Today started at 6.30 am (It was probably the heat that kept me from dozing off my morning) and I'm not going to let that get to me and spoil what's left of it. It was when I looked at the bright side of the frustrating situation I found myself in, that I told myself "Hey! now I got a chance to start planning the rest of my day!". Yes, one of my virtues is I can be brisk and energetic right from the moment when my body clock says it's time to get up (not in an annoying cock-row kinda way). Anyhow, today wasn't any different and that was when a decisive spasm got me out of bed.
So so so, between sips of Freshly made Green tea, I started sketching a little something that will make a lot of sense as soon as I explain why it popped up in my dreamy mind. You see, this is one of the many pictures that make up the main idea I have for today's beach shoot!
It might have been the diverging flavours of sour lemon and sweetening honey that made my taste-buds blast signals to my brains and, in turn, have an urging flaming desire of portraying such spurts on a sheet of paper. The next thing I knew is I found myself before a colour pallet which included a range of saturated colours. That is when I got down to work.
This I a mug I designed in a little workshop that Hanna, her sister Laura, and I spotted in Madrid! I thought it completely matched the seaside theme of the day <3
In order to achieve a wavy result as well as assuring diversity in textures and tonal values, I decided to draw the silhouette of the floating girl onto a vegetal paper (it's translucent). That way, I could place the watercolour drawing underneath and execute my plan.
Soon after I had finished, I adjusted the colours a little with Photoshop and started experimenting. As you can see, the result resembles still water over the outlined silhouette of the floating girl! It's different and I like it!
What a productive morning! Have a lovely day
lots of octopus-poppy-tentacle kisses to you all!
