By this illustration, my aim is not to criticize the misleading messages Mr Disney has discretely included in our much beloved Disney animated movies. These are not as easy to spot with a mere glimpse, however, if you do, you'll find that Disney illustrations have quite presumptuous connotations. As I said, this is not the reason behind this post, but I'm not far off track. Black, white and passion red. Keeping it simple with a prevalent monochromatic colour pallet, my intention is to portray the present pop-stars who used to be featured in well-know Disney chick-flick series. That's basically the inspiration that pushed me to enhance such an illustration.
Recently, Miley Cirus launched her musical video: We can't stop. Now, I recall her as Hanna Montana, a teenager who lived two lives: as well as being a super-star, she was bound to live a "normal girl's" day-to-day routine. I found it quite entertaining then, I must say. However, as many of my childhood Disney actresses, Miley Cyrus did not stay stranded in that girly world where a cheesy smile and a subtle giggle was seemingly cute and a flirting technique: she grew out of it. Many times criticized by her daringly seductive attitude in her video-clips, she has become a different version of Miley, achieving, as a result, a new audience and a spot in a new world.
In her latest music video you can see that the outfits, as well as the eccentric settings, are basically composed by a pallet of whites and blacks, and a much appreciated range of textures. Miley appears dressed in edgy outfits and striking red lips. This picture is not her portrait, just a result of what her image has transmitted to me.
Hope you like it!
