Fashion Oxygen
I introduce you Alice and Gabriela (Gabs) Fenwick
Talking about talent, their sense of Fashion is, to them, like breathing to us. I have known Alice and Gabs for... (give me a sec.. I'm calculating) 4 years already!
Not only did we go to the same school for two years, but we found out we had tons in common! When it comes to describing the Fenwick, I suggest you go and take a peak at their Inspiring Fashion Blog, Fashion Oxygen, and see for your self that they are a pair of perky, down-to-earth, amusing, creative, organized, bright, velvety, ambitious... TWINS.
It was when we were having a tea + carrot cake, that it simply hit me! I had to dedicate them my second post of Alter Ego.
So, here it is, for my favourite pair of twins, the exclusive Alter Ego post for Fashion Oxygen!

(A further description)
As I mentioned beforehand: Fashion, to them, is like breathing to us.
That's precisely what I aimed to represent.
The inverted triangle shaped composition is, by all means, a way of recreating the balance of their complementary personalities.
The chromatic selection gives a sense of airiness that, besides it being suitable for the term oxygen (of Fashion Oxygen), also is the favourite of Alice and Gabs.
After the drawing, painting and splashing, came the editing.
As for the dotted and reptile prints, these are details that portray both of their favourite textile pattern. But, strangely enough, I felt like something was missing. That is when I introduced the smoke wake. In the first copy, as you can see, it gives a more homogeneous result, whilst in the second model I decided to experiment and alter the colour. I thought a little contrast would suit the blues.
Both silhouettes (in the second copy) were also a result of further experimentation. Placing them in the centre gives an illusion of fullness. And last but not least, the Logo. By being in the forefront and slightly below the centre, it becomes the focus from where the drawings spread out.
In other words, this is a portrait of Fashion Oxygen.
